Met Office issues yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in north-west England

Scattered showers and thunderstorms expected to hit parts of the UK later today

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in north-west England, warning of possible disruption to travel and power supplies.

The warning is in place from 3pm to 9pm today, and covers the following areas: Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and parts of Cheshire and Staffordshire.
